As 2025 approaches, I find myself embarking on a journey of self-discovery and new beginnings. After 21 transformative years, I’ve made the bittersweet decision to step away from a career that shaped much of who I am today.

city’super and LOG-ON have given me so much—memories, friendships, and the privilege to collaborate with extraordinary brands and like-minded individuals. Together, we brought ideas to life and created experiences that will always hold a special place in my heart.

However, as times change, so do the landscapes of the places we hold dear. The values and spirit that once inspired me to join no longer seem to align with the decisions driven by the pressing need for “survival.” Operating for the sake of operating—losing sight of the bigger picture—has left me feeling disconnected from the purpose and energy I once thrived on.

So, it’s time. Time to pause, reset, and realign. At the end of January 2025, I’ll be heading off for a 10-day meditation retreat—a chance to let go of the lingering negativity and make space for whatever comes next.

Here’s to fresh perspectives, renewed energy, and the unknown opportunities that await in 2025. Let’s see where this new chapter leads. See you soon!

For post-COVID Hong Kong, 2023 was kind of difficult. 2024 has proved to be a lot more challenging, even though it hasn't happened yet. We all know of the unfortunate chain of events happening between countries inside out; there are just courage and tenacities we must get hold of.

I hope you find peace and serenity, from self-instrospection and prayers. Love you all who appreciate the finer things in life.

Chronodex Weekly Planner Jan - Jun 2023 Released

Oh man, thanks for all the waiting; it's been a crazy 2022, especially the 2nd half. Finally, I got to work on the 11th-year Chronodex, and without further ado, here it is for immediate download.

A lot of beautiful things happened in 2022, despite all the COVID measures and nonsense. I seem to be able to get more exercise, particularly with my Brompton bike (oh yeah I sold my Strida at a great price and finally able to afford a Bromie 2 years ago). I am also transitioning to a new role at work kind of smoothly, not without everyday challenges though. Sadly this new role also left me with a lot less time for my personal life, and WTF there's no need to travel too, I need to connect to the rest of the world man, something has to change in 2023 otherwise I will have to be brave to move on. So much unspoken thoughts and feelings, hope I can handle 2023 gracefully and wish you all good luck to do the same too! HGJN.

Hong Kong's social movement in 2019, global COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, what lies ahead of us in 2022? Do our little lives count at all? Makes me think of the following lyrics:

Marius, you're no longer a child
I do not doubt you mean it well
But now there is a higher call.
Who cares about your lonely soul?
We strive towards a larger goal
Our little lives don't count at all!

Some of you may have known already that I had left the stationery industry almost 2 years ago. 17 years as a buyer to source from all over the world, it was a privilege! I got to know a lot of the brand owners and great people contributing to the industry's advancement in a growingly digital world. I've learned a lot of the brand value propositions they painstakingly crafted, meaningful projects and initiatives, campaigns to bring not just products but admirable concepts to the world. It was a really sad departure for me; there are things people no longer treasure, evil empires only seeking short term profits, cowards not being able to stand against adversaries, quick and dirty tricks always win over long term efforts to create sustainable values.  At one point, I felt like I was the only one fighting, at the darkest corner where there's no hope of light or being the light of something greater. The stage was set, and I either shrank to nothingness or shone to a great death.

I'm a person believing in aesthetics, be it physical or more importantly conceptual, there are universal values just can't be measured by corporation greeds and personal gains. How to make better a world where evil brings profit and virtue none at all?  Here we go Miguel de Cervantes' Man of La Mancha:

He ponders the problem
Of how to make better a world
Where evil brings profit and virtue none at all.
He lays down the melancholy burden of sanity
And conceives the strangest project ever imagined...
To become a knight-errant,.....

Alright, back to reality. You will learn more about Chef Polar from my Instagram feed, but I'm still a stationery guy, a musical guy and a branding guy. Fighting.

Chronodex Weekly Planner Jul - Dec 2021 Released

Wow without really realising it, Chronodex is already 10 years old! As my last Instagram post mentioned, it was originally released for my own use but eventually I shared to the world asking for everybody to pray for my Dad hoping for his peaceful departure from this world without pain. I'm thankful to all of you who embarked on this epic journey with me all along, I will keep producing Chronodex as I'm a 100% user for 10 years and I rely on it heavily. My Dad's spirit is still with me every single day and I keep tapping into his ethos for inspirations, for this I feel really thankful too.

Chronodex Weekly Planner Jan - Jun 2021 Released

Finally closed some projects at work and able to finish producing Jan-Jun 2021 Chronodex! So here it is for your immediate download. (UPDATE on 6th Jan 2021: Monthly calendar in May 2021 was showing wrong dates and it is now corrected, if you have downloaded it before 6th Jan, feel free to download it again for the correction. You can simply reprint page 29 and 30 and replace just that spread)

If you are new to Chronodex, the most difficult part is printing out double-sided correctly, so do read this guideline before you start printing, it is important you get it right.

The image above is how I typically use Chronodex. Simply draw a line from the clock dial to any empty space on your paper, start writing the description of your appointment and shade the period of time, most important appointments you shade 3 levels (as shown in red in the above diagram). That's it, you can use any space on your paper for anything, that's the beauty of Chronodex, you liberate the space.
